Covid-19 Updates

On April 20, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced the "reopening" of churches and other various businesses beginning this weekend, with the stipulation of following strict social distancing guidelines. So what does this mean for Relevant Church? While this does allow for in-person services on campus, Relevant will be continuing "online only" services and activities for now, as we believe this is the wisest course of action at this time. However, we will continue to monitor health trends and the advice of medical professionals to guide us in planning when and how to resume on-campus services at Relevant. Thank you for praying for the church's leadership as they navigate these unprecedented times.

CHANGE TO SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES AND ADDITIONAL CORONAVIRUS UPDATES:

With news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting both our local and global community, Relevant Church is endeavoring to place the highest value on health and safety while continuing to provide meaningful ways for our church family and guests to worship and take next steps toward Christ and in Christ.

Because we know this virus is spread primarily through close contact, we have made the decision to follow the recommendations of The White House, Governor Kemp, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to not gather in person at Relevant Church for worship and other activities beginning Sunday, March 15, and continuing until further notice. However, we will still connect online for worship, teaching, kids ministry, youth ministry, and other programs as outlined below:

OPPORTUNITIES TO STAY CONNECTED:

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY:

  • Assisting Seniors 70+ – Do you know someone in our area age 70+ who may be in need of groceries and necessities? Relevant Church would love to help bring relief. Email info@relevantchurch.cc for details. If you’d like to contribute towards this effort you can do so at myrelevant.cc/forthelove.

  • Providing Food For Kids In Need – Help local kids in need of meals during school closures by donating the following items to “Caring For A Cause”: pop-top canned meals, cereal, breakfast bars, fruit cups, juice boxes, ramen noodles, Pop-Tarts, Jell-O cups, water, and crackers. Email renee@relevantchurch.cc with questions.

  • Masks for Healthcare Workers – We are in need of hand-sewn masks for local healthcare workers. If you would like to help or have any materials you'd like to donate, Email info@relevantchurch.cc or send a direct message through Relevant’s Facebook page for details.

For many worldwide this virus is a source of fear and anxiety. As followers of Jesus, we’re clear that God has given us a spirit of love and not fear: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you will continue to sense God’s peace in the midst of these circumstances. And while we won’t be operating from a position of fear, we intend to take the necessary precautions so that we can best serve our community in a way that demonstrates our trust in God.

This is our plan as of Monday, March 16, 2020. Additional updates will be posted here as plans develop.

Remember…the best is yet to come!
